Makeup Basics

Why is it important to keep your tools clean?

  • It is crucial to always keep your tools clean. This builds confidence with clients, reflects your professionalism, and ensures hygiene between clients. Using a metal palette and spatula prevents product contamination, meaning it is much less likely to be compromised. Contaminated products can lead to various infections that need to be avoided.

  • Being organized allows you to quickly find products and reduces searching. It is very pleasant to have everything at hand and clearly know where your most precious tools are!

How to properly care for your tools?

  • I organize my kit with transparent bags so I can see what’s inside and easily transport it if needed. At my workstation, I lay a clean cloth on the table and place my foundations, powder palettes, etc., on it.

  • You can also use paper towels, but I try to avoid them for two reasons: I believe they are not environmentally friendly and are an unnecessary expense. Also, I love to style the cloth I use, whether with different colors and textures depending on the event or adding my logo for promotion—both work wonderfully for me.

  • If you want to create your own designs, I invite you to my toolbox where I share connections to amazing people who can help you with this.

What products should we use to clean our tools?

  • Regarding my makeup products, using a metal palette and spatula ensures they stay clean and uncontaminated!

  • If I forget to do this, I use a disinfectant spray or antiseptic wipe, depending on the product and its texture.
