Imperfections and Corrections

MODULE  5.1

Modifying Imperfections

Face Correction

Every face has a different shape. Makeup allows us to modify this shape to our advantage; when we want to emphasize, enlarge, or highlight, we use a lighter color, and when we want to reduce or hollow out, we use a darker color.

It is important to specify that all correction applications must be done with cream first and then finished with powder, not the reverse. Creams are easier to blend and ensure the makeup lasts longer. Powders soften your corrections and finalize with additional coverage if needed.

When correcting a part of the face with shadows and highlights, it’s essential to apply shadow and light work on the rest of the face as well to avoid emphasizing only the corrected area.

How to make the nose straighter, thinner, or wider?

For a wide nose, apply shadows on each side.

For a thin nose, apply light on the top from top to bottom.

Forehead

How to slim a large forehead with makeup?

Use a shade slightly darker than the model’s skin tone and blend from the hairline inward. Using the clean side of a sponge, blend the color inward. It’s important not to use a color that is too dark to keep the model’s natural complexion and avoid a dirty appearance.

With another sponge, apply a slightly lighter color and blend it between the dark area and the rest of the face. These corrections should be done on a cream base for better intensity and longevity.

Then simply seal everything with powders of the same shade.

Chin

How to conceal a double chin?

Using a shade slightly darker than the skin tone, define the underside of the chin.

First apply with cream, then finish with powder following the same process.
