Journey Through Egypt: Encounters That Transform Agence Thaly

Nathalie has just returned from a trip to Egypt that deeply nourished her creative universe and, by extension, the soul of Agence Thaly. From Cairo and Luxor to a cruise on the Nile and the turquoise waters of Hurghada, every stop added new colours, textures and stories to be transformed into makeup looks. Along the way, she also met extraordinary people at each destination, with whom she now hopes to collaborate on curated trips to Egypt and future creative, human projects.

Cairo: where it all begins

In Cairo, Nathalie rediscovered the vibrant energy of a big capital city: dense traffic, calls to prayer, bustling markets and, in the distance, the mythical silhouettes of the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. The desert ochres, the deep blue of the Nile and the golden tones of the museums formed a true palette of inspiration, somewhere between mystery and opulence.

For a makeup artist, these contrasts are priceless: they feed both fantasy creations and beauty looks, inspiring new ideas for graphic lines, intense gradients and golden or metallic plays of light.

Luxor: an open‑air museum

In Luxor, Nathalie discovered a true “open‑air museum”: the colossal columns of Karnak, the Temple of Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. There, she met incredibly generous people who introduced her to their neighbourhood and daily life, rooting her journey even more in human connection as much as in heritage.

A highlight of the trip was taking her mother on a hot‑air balloon ride for her 70th birthday, at sunrise over the Valley of the Kings. Watching the temples, the Nile and the desert turn shades of pink, orange and gold from that height will remain one of Nathalie’s most powerful life experiences, and an endless source of inspiration for her future makeup looks.

Cruise between Luxor and Aswan: the softness of the Nile

Between Luxor and Aswan, Nathalie took the time to slow down on a cruise along the Nile. From the ship’s deck, every stop felt like a new lesson in living history: hieroglyphs, monumental columns and colourful frescoes seemed to translate directly into makeup motifs.

The reflections of the sun on the water, the silhouettes of palm trees at dusk and the shades of the sky at sunset now influence the way she works gradients, shadows and highlights in her artistic creations and event concepts.

Hurghada: diving, kitesurfing and an aquatic palette

In Hurghada, Nathalie traded temples for the Red Sea. On the agenda: diving, kitesurfing and long hours spent facing an endless gradient of blues, turquoises and greens. Corals, multicoloured fish and the movement of the waves became immediate visual references: organic patterns, aquatic textures and almost metallic flashes echoing underwater light.

This aquatic dimension inspires makeup looks with iridescent effects, softer shapes and lots of transparency and shine – perfect for creative photoshoots or themed events.

What this journey brings to Agence Thaly

For Agence Thaly, this trip is far more than a holiday memory; it fully reflects the agency’s philosophy. Makeup is a way to tell stories, to make people travel and to spark emotion, even if only for the duration of an event.

Beyond the landscapes, it is above all the encounters that left a mark on Nathalie. She grew particularly close to one family with whom she has already started collaborating: soon, their handcrafted necklaces will be sold at Agence Thaly’s makeup booths, with the profits donated to support the family and to help launch a project in Egypt focused on children and education. It is a beautiful way to extend this journey, to create a tangible bridge between here and there – and to invite you to stay tuned for what comes next.

The colours of Egypt, the softness of the Nile, the intensity of the desert and the lightness of water sports will all be reflected in Nathalie’s upcoming makeup creations, in her trainings and in the event concepts she develops with the team. This curiosity, openness to the world and ability to turn each trip into creative material are what make Agence Thaly much more than a simple makeup service: an invitation to live powerful artistic experiences, here and elsewhere.
